Step 2: Create and Setup your Job in Ducknowl
Then create the matching job in Ducknowl. Begin by logging into Ducknowl and clicking on “New Job,” as shown here.
Clicking “New Job” will prompt the following pop-up, allowing you to create your position. Use the same name as the job you created on Jobvite for easy reference (optional).
There is no real need to copy-paste the description or location into Ducknowl, as your job will live mainly in Jobvite, but if it helps you differentiate between positions, it may be helpful.
Ducknowl will prompt you to input prescreening questions. There is no need to utilize these when using Ducknowl in integration with Jobvite, so click on Skip.
Next, you will be prompted to add some keyword parameters. As a Jobvite user, you will not need to add these either; simply click Skip.
In the final screen of the create job stage, you will see a series of buttons, 3 of which are already green. You don’t need to mess with any of these as a Jobvite user, since resumes will populate into Ducknowl from your Jobvite account. Simply click on “Create job”!
From here, your job will enter the drafts stage. You must click “Publish” to make the position active.
Once you have published the job, click on the Active tab of your Ducknowl Job Dashboard.
Click on your new position to set up your assessments.
Once inside your position dashboard, click on “+ Screening.”
In the dropdown, you can choose “one-way interview” or “assessment.” No matter the order you choose them in, you are able to send both to the candidates with one click.
Let’s begin by setting up a one-way interview. Click on “+ One-way interview.” This will bring up a pop-up. To begin designing your one-way interview, click on Add question.
Decide on a question, and choose how long you would like to give candidates to answer, as well as whether or not you would like to offer retakes. If you have a question that can be googled, you can choose “think time” to blur the question until candidates initiate, giving them a set amount of time to write notes before the recording starts automatically. You may make your one-way interview up to 60 minutes long or as short as you wish and add as many or as few questions as you like within this time frame.
Once you are satisfied with your one-way interview, click Save. If you only want to set up a one-way interview, you are done on Ducknowl for now. However, if you wish to add an assessment, you can click on “+ Screening” again. You will see that the green checkbox is highlighted over the one-way interview button, letting us know it’s already been set up. Click on “Assessment.”
Once you click on “+ Assessment,” a pop-up will appear with a drop-down allowing you to choose the category and difficulty of your assessment.
Choose an assessment that corresponds to the skills you’d like to hire for, and click on Next.
On the next screen, choose how long candidates have to take their assessment before it expires. Then, click “Confirm.”
Now it is time to link this job with your Jobvite job and really get to work!
With both your assessments saved, click on the clipboard in the upper right corner of your job.
This will bring up a pop-up that offers you a drop-down with all of your available jobs on Jobvite. Choose the position that corresponds to the job you just set up on Ducknowl.
Step 3: Sending And Receiving Ducknowl Interview & Assessment Requests Directly from your Jobvite Dashboard
