How to Integrate Ducknowl with Smartrecruiter
Thank you for choosing Ducknowl!
In order to choose an assessment, first integrate your SmartRecruiter account with Ducknowl as instructed. Once integrated, you can proceed to Ducknowl to create your job and get started.
1. In your recruiter dashboard, click on “Add a Job.”
2. In the pop-up, click on “Add new Job Title.” Or choose an existing title if you’ve created a job before.
3. Next, add some keywords that correspond to your job, and mark them as “mandatory” or “nice to have.” Words rated “mandatory” will show a higher keyword match.
4. Once you’re satisfied with your chosen keywords, click “Save Job.”
5. Now that your job is created, you can add your assessments. Click on “Create Audio/Video Test.” The button looks like a little video camera.
6. Click on “Setup” under “Audio video screening.”
7. Click on “Add question” and type in whatever questions you wish to ask your candidates. Think of questions that might prompt insights about their work personality or prior experience.
8. You can choose the duration of your answer and whether you’d like to hide the question beforehand (think time). Using think time can prevent candidates from googling the answer to questions.
9. Scroll down a bit, and you can choose whether you would like to receive audio answers or video answers, as well as how long the interview link will last. Finally, choose how many retakes you would like to allow your candidate. When you’re satisfied, click “Save” in the bottom right.
10. To set up an assessment, click on the “select skill test” button, which looks like a little paper icon below.
11. There are many categories to choose from, so scroll down and click around to see which assessment category will best suit your company’s needs. For this demo, we’re clicking Software Development.
12. Once you’ve chosen a category, choose the assessment that will give you the most accurate insights into your candidate’s skills, and click on “Next.”
13. In the final assessment setup pop-up, you can choose your test’s expiration date by selecting how many days’ duration you’d like to give. Finally, set up your test by clicking “confirm.”
14. Now that you’ve set up your Ducknowl assessments, you can return to Smart Recruiter and open the job for which you’d like to send your chosen assessments.
15. To add a candidate in Smart Recruiter, go to your job dashboard and click on “Add candidate.”
16. This will open a pop-up where you can upload your candidate’s resume.
17. Smart Recruiter will automatically fill out most candidate details for you. Double-check the information to ensure it is correct, choose your source type, and click “Add candidate.”
18. Now you are ready to send your assessments to your candidate. To begin, go to the job you added your candidate to. If you are on the homepage, you can do so by clicking “Active Jobs.”
19. From the list, click on the relevant position.
20. This will bring up the job dashboard, showing you all the candidates who have applied or have been uploaded to this job. Click on the candidate you wish to test.
21. Inside the candidate page, scroll down, and on the right-hand side, click on “browse.”
22. In the “Select a partner” dropdown, choose Ducknowl. This will bring up the assessments you chose earlier on Ducknowl.
23. Click the checkmarks next to the assessment(s) you wish to use and click continue.
24. This step is pretty easy. Click send!
25. Once candidates have returned their results, return to the candidate page inside your SmartRecruiter job.
26. Scroll down and click “Assessments” on the right-hand side. Click the paperclip next to the assessment you wish to review. First, we’ll look at the technical test.
27. When you click the paperclip, you will be taken to the result details. On the top panel, you can review your candidate’s score, time taken to complete, and the total time allotted for the assessment. On the next line, you will see three randomly taken photos—review these to ensure your candidate is not reading from their phone or a textbook or speaking to someone off-camera. On the third line, you can check whether your candidate left the test window and for how long.
28. Scrolling down, you will see “Score breakdown by experience level”. If your candidate took a test that covered multiple levels of experience, you can see how many questions they correctly answered from each level. Next, you can see their score breakdown by question category. You may also compare your candidate’s score against the historical average for the test. Finally, you can review your candidate’s exact answers.
29. Return to the candidate page. Scroll down to “Assessments” again and click the paperclip under the Video Assessment.
30. This will bring you video assessment results. Click the “Play” button to review your candidate’s video.
